What kind of writer are you looking for?

I'm the kind that proofreads my texts, rewrites my emails, and corrects other people's grammar -- usually silently. I have also been known to shout out the answers to English Lit trivia questions when it's not my turn.

In other words, I'm not just a writer.  I'm a person who loves language.

Although I started writing professionally in 2009, the roots of my wordsmithing started much earlier.  My very first production was a short story called 'The Top Pen'.  Crafted in my pre-K days, it consisted of only the 3- and 4-letter words I knew how to spell.  (No, not those four-letter words.) It may have been short on style, form, and any discernible plot, but we all have to start somewhere.

After several years of running my own business and working various jobs, I decided to enter the world of freelance writing.  I love using my background in technology and in 'explaining things' to help non-IT people understand how things work -- and how these same things can work for them. I've collaborated with a wide variety of companies in an assortment of fields, including restaurant management software, data analytics, managed IT services, e-commerce, and online payments.  I've also enjoyed writing extensively about my two other passions:  travel and food.

When I'm not writing, I'm exploring the world around me, either in person or through ideas.  My non-writing activities include keeping up with technology's latest developments, learning something new (currently, drawing with oil pastels), creating new gluten-free recipes, and trying to get my dog to chew on something that isn't the sofa.
